Keynote Jay Frost
"Social Media as a Window in to the Prospects of the Future
"

Social media can seem so trivial, right?  That is, until we realize that the majority of our current and future supporters are on these platforms, defining themselves, their interests, and their communities every day.  Fundraising and research veteran Jay Frost lifts the lid on social media, exploring how we can use these networks to better identify, understand, and engage prospects and donors.  We will learn how to get started, work efficiently, effectively and ethically, and how to avoid getting stuck in this new world of publically disclosed personal information.

Choose From 2 Breakout Sessions

1A: "Are You a Hoarder, or Just Dirty?"
Database Cleanup: Audra Jesudason, Houston Zoo

A non-profit’s brain is its database. It has the capacity to maintain relationships with donors and analyze the efforts in doing so. What could prevent such progress? Bad data entry. Something so simple can be the greatest problem. Find out how to solve the issue that plagues us all.

1B: "Taking the Donor Experience from Ordinary to Extraordinary!"
Research & Stewardship: Ali McLane, the Dini Partners

The adage “your best prospects are your current donors and friends” has never rung more truly.  So, how are you stewarding your donors?  Are you incorporating all available information to create a giving experience to remember for your donors?  Review concepts and techniques to incorporate data tracking that will help you transform your donors’ experiences from ordinary to extraordinary!

2A "Living the Future of Fundraising"
Communications & Prospecting:
Denise Hensley, Baylor College of Medicine
Helen Carlson, Baylor College of Medicine

You hear about the next generation of donors at every turn, the wonders of social networking, and how today’s donors want to be more involved in the areas they want before and even after their giving.  Learn how to bring it all together by using messaging in the form of e-blasts, e-newsletters, and social networks.  Your reward is hands-on analytics that feed your institution's major gift pipeline.

2B "I Need to Do What?  Advanced Research Without Losing Your Mind"
Data Prioritization: Jay Frost, fronstonfundraising.com

Every day there’s a new request for services that can take your operation from good to great.  Perhaps it’s tracking SEC documents, keeping up on emerging industries, ingesting data from multiple screenings, identifying international prospects,  or even managing social media data.  Each one takes time away from your core activities.  Find out how best to incorporate these techniques without going bonkers!
